Ambiance Design, a Hunter Douglas Gallery, specializing in custom window treatments, was founded in 2008 by Laura Hawley, an Air Force Veteran. After leaving the Air Force, Laura began working for Hunter Douglas at a manufacturing site in Willow Grove. Working in customer support, as well as an installer, she quickly became a product expert. Unfortunately, in December of 2007, Laura lost her job due to the economic downturn. Rather than giving up and switching career paths, she took the vast knowledge and 7+ years of experience to start her own business selling Hunter Douglas window treatments right out of her car.
Laura used her drive, competitive nature, and unrelenting hard-work to further develop her company while reaching her dreams and goals for Ambiance Design. With business picking up, she was able to open a showroom in 2013 in Fort Washington. This resulted in gaining more clients and allowing for more products and services, including a bedding line, wallcovering vendors, and fabric vendors for soft treatments as well as re-upholstery projects. She then brought in her husband Dan Hawley as the Chief Executive Officer and primary installer to be co-owner and business partner.
Fast forward to 2016 when an opportunity to invest in becoming a Hunter Douglas Centurion Gallery Dealer arose. Wanting a larger showroom to better serve our clients in an easy to access location, Ambiance Design was brought to the lovely community of Blue Bell. Located in the Shoppes at Village Square, right off of 202, the former retail shop was beautifully transformed into a spacious, welcoming, and simply elegant showroom. This space would also enable for more product displays, as well as provide adequate room for conferences and seminars for interior designers, trade organizations, and clients. Since opening in June of 2016, we have experienced tremendous growth and success while establishing a lot of local business partnerships and friendships! We are so pleased with this location and are looking forward to getting more involved in the community to serve our neighbors in the years to come!
