Ambiance Design Donates Fundraiser Proceeds to Help Veterans at Montgomery County Community College

(BLUE BELL, PA) February 15, 2018 – Dan and Laura Hawley, owners of Ambiance Design, a one-stop source for window treatments and home décor, donated $2,800 to the Montgomery County Community College’s Foundation in support of the veterans’ annual Mindfulness Retreat on the Appalachian Trail.

The Hawleys are Air Force veterans and are passionate about supporting causes that help veterans. Every November, in honor of Veterans Day, Ambiance Design sets aside $100 from every client project sold that month to donate to a veteran’s organization. This year Ambiance Design chose the veterans at Montgomery County Community College to support their annual three-day Mindfulness Retreat. Twenty veteran participate in this activity, which encourages them to build relationships and challenge themselves by focusing on connecting their mind and body in various activities such as meditation, hiking, yoga, journaling, and group discussions. This retreat helps students reconnect with their community and campus, as they transition back to civilian life.

“Adjusting to life after the military can be difficult,” said Mike Brown, Coordinator of Veteran Services at Montgomery County Community College. “We aim to make that transition a little bit smoother. One way we do that is by inviting our student veterans to an annual retreat along the Appalachian Trail. With Ambiance Design’s generous donation, we are now able to make that retreat a reality again for up to 20 students at the College.”

Montgomery County Community College’s Veterans Resource Center:
Montgomery County Community College (MCCC)’s Veterans Resource Center provides services and assistance to veterans, service members, and spouse/dependents with their transition to college. Services include but are not limited to Veterans Administration (VA) work study opportunities, Student Veteran Organization (SVO) meeting headquarters, Veteran Service Team (VST) meetings, a veteran lounge and computer area, assistance with VA educational benefits, VA educational certifying officials and general VA information. The Center also facilitates workshops and other outreach to assist veterans with the transition to civilian life. Ambiance Design Welcomes Two New Hires
Amy Erenius and Emily Heacock join the award winning showroom

(BLUE BELL, Pa.) – Ambiance Design, a one-stop source for window treatment and home décor, is proud to announce two new additions to its professional team. Amy Erenius has joined Ambiance Design as a Design Consultant. As a former in-home color consultant for Sherwin Williams with more than 20 years of experience in the window treatment business, Amy’s role is to assist Ambiance Design clients with planning and selecting their window treatments and home décor. A true go-getter with the drive and ambition to match, Amy is an asset to the Ambiance Design staff. Her background in window treatments and design enable her to be a recruiter of other designers for the business. Amy has a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and lives with her family in Doylestown, Pa.

Emily Heacock has joined Ambiance Design as a Marketing Coordinator. She is responsible for maintaining the company’s social media presence, coordinating events at the showroom and managing the company’s advertising. Emily has a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications from Penn State University. Her creativity, organizational skills, and passion for writing enable Emily to provide content and fresh ideas to represent the company. Emily lives in Perkasie, Pa.

Ambiance Design Founder Honored by American Society of Interior Designers
Laura Hawley receives Presidential Citation in recognition of outstanding service

(Blue Bell, PA)- Laura Hawley, founder and CEO of Ambiance Design, a one-stop source for window treatment and home décor, received a Presidential Citation from the American Society of Interior Designers at their Annual Meeting and Celebration held on September 14, 2017.

The Citation recognizes members for their oustanding service to the Pennsylvania East Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Christine DeHart, president of ASID PA East Chapter, stated, “I chose to honor Laura Hawley for her commitment and dedication to our organization. For someone who was just beginning to get involved with our Chapter, I was extremely impressed by her willingness to accept a board position as Financial Director and really get involved.”
